Theo Jaffe assists with the production aspects of the farm.
A 2019 graduate of St. Andrews School in Middletown, Delaware, Theo has been described by a faculty member as a farmboy, scholar and superhero. Here on the farm, Theo is our rotational grazing master.
He assists with the daily tasks of feeding and moving all animals to new paddocks so they get the best outdoor living experience the land has to offer. For example, he moves the three-week-old chicks from the brooder house to the field, ensuring that they have fresh grass on a daily basis.
Theo also coordinates the order in which the sheep and other animals are rotated on pastures to ensure sustainable animal husbandry and land use practices. An expert pig catcher, he brings the strategy, agility, speed and muscle power that is necessary to secure pigs that are living in the woods and open pasture.
